Established in 2013 by the System Design and Management (SDM) program, the MIT Sloan Product Management Club became the first student-run organization of its kind on campus, expanding its membership to include MBA, IDM, and all of the other academic programs at MIT Sloan.
The PM Club embodies the spirit of MIT’s motto Mens et Manus (“mind and hand”) and is dedicated to providing members both the knowledge and experience in product management by creating opportunities to apply these ideas in the real world.
As one of the largest clubs on campus, boasting an active annual membership of 400+ students and alumni, the club provides critical value to MIT Sloan students looking to transition into and advance within the product management field.
PM Club members are granted access to exclusive events such as speaker series, interview prep sessions, skill-building workshops, company visits, and student panels. In addition, members can be matched to PM Club members, who can help them review resumes, navigate summer internship recruiting, and provide guided mentorship.
Members also get primary access for admission into PM Lab, a three-week program over IAP (Independent Activities Period) designed to give students the opportunity to work on a PM project at a company. This action learning program, in partnership with 15.785 Digital Product Management (offered in the spring semester), gives students the skills and experience they need to begin a career in PM.
In addition to receiving weekly communications containing up-to-date internship and job postings, members receive a copy of the club’s annual recruiting book and are eligible to sign up for resume reviews from PM Club leaders.
PM Club members bring diverse skill sets and backgrounds. Many credit the club for successfully obtaining a summer internship and transitioning into a full-time PM role post-graduation.
In fact, members of the PM Club have secured full-time PM positions at the following companies, among others:
